Ada Abercrombie Poole, 82, of 305 Gassaway Street and widow of William W. 'Bill' Poole, died Saturday, June 3, 2006 at her residence. A native of Central she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Ada Murphree Abercrombie. She was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and was retired from Southern Wesleyan University.

She is survived by sons: Ken Poole and wife Sandra of Lexington and Russell Poole and wife Sarah of Central; brother: Oscar Abercrombie of St. Petersburg, FL; 2 grandchildren: Brandon Poole and Kindra P. Murphy and 3 great grandchildren: Tucker, Mallory and Kennedy. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by three brothers: Frank, Rufus and Roy Abercrombie and 2 sisters: Beatrice Wheeler and Inez Massingill.

A graveside service will be held 11am Tuesday at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Central. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
