Addie Jean Dickson, 71, of Piedmont, South Carolina, loving wife of Mike Dickson went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, December 1, 2025, at her home surrounded by family.
Born on December 10, 1953, in Greenville County, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late George and Thelma Louise Anderson. Jean dedicated 30 years of her life to the Greenville County School District, where she served not only as a teacher at Grove Elementary School and Northwood Middle School but also as an Instructional Advisor. Her passion for education was evident in every lesson she taught, touching the lives of countless students, instilling in them a thirst for knowledge and a belief in themselves. A proud graduate of Carolina High School, Jean furthered her education at Clemson University, where she earned a master’s degree in education. This educational foundation allowed her to shape and guide the minds of future generations, and her impact in the classroom was felt long after her retirement. Beyond her professional achievements, Jean was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family was her world, and she radiated joy and positivity in all aspects of her life. Always sporting a smile, she was known for her cheerful demeanor and her unwavering support for those around her. Jean's positive outlook inspired everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Jean had a deep faith in the Lord, which was reflected in her daily life. She found great joy in traveling and making memories with her family, particularly during their cruises together. A passionate Clemson Tigers fan, she infused her love for the team into the hearts of her family, fostering traditions that will be cherished for years to come.
In addition to her husband of 20 years, she is survived by her son, Clifton Canady; and a granddaughter, Quinn Canady.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Kyle Canady.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 5, 2025, in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home – Powdersville Road. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Reflection Mausoleum of Robinson Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Robinson Funeral Home – Powdersville Road.
