Alana C. Carpenter
Seneca, SC

Alana Concetta Carpenter, 27 years old, of Seneca, South Carolina died on 10/20/2014. She was born in Claremont, New Hampshire on 8/17/87 to Thomas Carpenter and Renee Maynes. She lived in Claremont for most of her life and attended Saint Mary's School and Stevens High School. After high school, she attended Coastal Carolina in Conway, SC before returning to New Hampshire. Her love of good weather and desire to be closer to her sister led to a move to South Carolina in 2013.
Alana loved the outdoors. In Claremont she enjoyed hiking Arrowhead and Moody Park with her two constant companions, dogs Pippin Pablo Escobar and Baxter Rodriguez. In South Carolina she spent her time on the lakes and river, swimming, boating and tanning. She didn't lose her love for the mountains, though, and spent many weekends exploring the hills of North Carolina.
Alana will be remembered most for her big voice, infectious smile, and endless energy.
Survivors include her beloved older sister, Sarah Williams, and brother in law, Dorrington Williams of Clemson, South Carolina. Her grandmother, Angela Maynes, and grandfather Peter Hickey of Newport, N.H. Her aunt and uncle, Maria and Donald White of Claremont, N.H., and her cousins, who she considered sisters, Danielle White and Molly White as well as uncle Nick Maynes and his children Samuel Maynes, Anthony Maynes, and Jack Maynes, who she considered her little brothers. Her greatest joy was in spending time with her family.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday November 1, 2014 at Arrowhead Ski Lodge from 5 - 7 PM. The family invites friends to share memories of Alana and celebrate a life well lived and much loved.
