Albert William Porter, 87, of 224 Mark Street, husband of the late Nannie Lou Thompson Porter, died Monday, October 9, 2006, at Elderberry Health Care in Marshall, NC.
Born in Pickens County, a son of the late John and Wardie Evett Porter, Mr. Porter retired from Singer Corporation and was a member of Jones Avenue Baptist Church.
Mr. Porter was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Porter was predeceased by two brothers, Bailey Porter and A.J. Porter, and by three sisters, Hattie Powell, Eunice Granger and Rosalee Chappell.
Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Greenlawn Memorial Park with Rev. Dr. Roger Couch officiating.
Visitation will be from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown, prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jones Avenue Baptist Church, 614 Ross Avenue, Easley, SC 29640
