Mrs. Alice Nalley Owens, 86, of 214 Poplar Springs Drive, Easley, loving wife of Thomas Owens, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at her residence.
Mrs. Owens was born in Anderson County on February 23, 1930 to the late George Henry and Edith McClimon Nalley. After graduating from Easley High School and Draughon's Business College, she worked for Easley Lumber Company which is now Nalley Construction Company. During her working years, she worked for various businesses, and later retired from St. Paul United Methodist Church in Greenville as an administrative assistant. She taught Sunday School for many years at Easley Mill United Methodist, and was a member of the United Methodist Women at Fairview United Methodist Church and held the treasurer position for many years. Alice was a member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church in Easley where she was very active in the Faith and Joy Sunday School Class and the Chancel Choir.
In addition to her loving husband, Alice is survived by two daughters; Alicia Owens of Easley and Betsy Bryan (Russell) of Simpsonville; a brother; Donald Nalley (Mary) of Huntsville, Alabama; and a sister; Lavenia Crenshaw of Greer. She is also survived by four grandchildren; Dylan Bryan, "Bo" Gilstrap, Maria Bryan and Grant Gilstrap.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at St. Andrew United Methodist Church; 309 Pelzer Highway, Easley, SC 29642. Interment will follow at Fairview United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, April 22, 2016 at Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown, 305 W. Main Street, Easley, SC 29640.
The family is at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to either St. Andrew United Methodist Church, 309 Pelzer Highway, Easley, SC 29642; or to Regency Hospice, 880 South Pleasantburg Drive, Greenville, SC 29607.
