Alice Lue Pittenger, 82, of 4 Rum Row Court, Keowee Key, formerly of Indianapolis, IN and wife of Gail Edgar Pittenger, died Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Oconee Memorial Hospital in Seneca.
Born in Robinson, IL she was the daughter of the late George Oscar Edward and Blondell Etelka Smith Butler. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Ohio University of Athens, OH. Throughout her husband's extensive business career with Eli Lilly, she was the homemaker and manager of the family having to deal with moves all over the USA and Europe. After moving to Keowee Key, Alice became a very active participant in social and recreational activities such as bridge, ping-pong, tennis and most recently pickle ball.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, Kerry Pittenger of Philadelphia, PA; daughters, Karen (Larry) Lewis of Concord, NC and Kimberlee David of Indianapolis, IN; brother, William R. Butler of Miami, FL; grandchildren, Stephanie Langham of Concord, NC, Lauren Milton, Joshua David and Mikayla David all of Indianapolis, IN, and Kelly Pittenger of Mt Laurel, NJ.
