Alice Melrose Smith

Alice Melrose Kinsey Smith, 82, formerly of Townville, SC, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2020 at the Rainey Hospice in Anderson.

She was born in Columbia, SC, a daughter of the late Carl and Nina Mae McElhannon Kinsey. Melrose loved teaching Sunday School, enjoyed all forms of crafts and was known as a very talented athlete. She was a member of Full Gospel Temple in Seneca.

Surviving are her children, Rory Smith (Amanda) of Seneca, Rhonda Kay Smith Levi (Timothy) of Gaston, SC, Renee Smith Price of Seneca, Jeff Smith (Jackie) of Seneca, Rodney Smith (Lana) of Cheasapeake, VA, and Robin Smith Edgar (Don) of Middleburg, FL; grandchildren, MEG'an Smith, Victoria Smith, Roman Smith, Piper Smith, Timmy Levi, Daniel Levi, Bo Price, Fisher Price, Heather Smith, Brittany Nichols, Hunter Smith, Grayson Smith, Landon Smith, Spencer Smith, Christopher Edgar and Brendon Edgar, 9 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

In addition to her husband, James Rochelle Smith, Jr.; she was predeceased by siblings, Joan Byford, Irene Chewning and Carl Kinsey, Jr.

Funeral services will be 12 noon, Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at Full Gospel Temple, Seneca with burial to follow in Townville Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends starting at 11 AM Tuesday prior to the service at the church.
