Alice B. Taylor

Alice Margaret Beer Taylor, 78, of Easley and widow of Joseph Franklin Taylor, died Monday, October 17, 2011 at Majesty Health and Rehabilitation in Easley.
The daughter of the late Clair A. and Mabel A. (Smith) Beer, she was born in Idamar, PA.
She was a 1953 graduate of Marion Center High School in Marion Center, PA and was a avid churchgoer. Some of her favorite times included bowling, fishing, and participating in family reunions and holiday get-togethers at the lake. She was very talented at baking and craft making and attained many ribbons for her artistic abilities. She won ribbons for her delicious homemade bread and a blue ribbon in the South Carolina State Fair for her creative plastic canvas.
She represented what a loving and caring person should be by her many friends, near and afar, and through her family. During her life she often dealt with unbearable situations but her strong-will and fierce determination she was always able to endure, no matter what. She never allowed negativity to carry on for long and was especially known for her optimism and candid sense of humor, often telling many jokes. She was and will always be an inspiration to all who knew her.
She is survived by her children: sons, James (Bud) Conley of Liberty, SC, Kevin Taylor of Central, SC, Robert (Bobby) Taylor of Greenville, SC, Stacy Taylor of Liberty, SC; daughters, Joella Vaughn of West Columbia, SC, Janice Banks of Pickens, SC, Tammy Hill of Easley, SC, Kelly Whaley of Liberty, SC; brother, Clarence Beer of Noblesville, IN; sister, Betty Clark of Liberty, SC; 22 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, James Conley; children, Daryl Taylor and Dawn Holden; great-grandchild, Eli Davis; and siblings, Paul Smith, Robert Beer, Carl Beer, William Beer and Joyce Rowley; and an infant sister, Ada Louella Beer.
Funeral services will be 11 AM, Thursday in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central, SC with burial to follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM, Wednesday at the funeral home.
The family is at the home of a daughter Tammy Hill, 119 Jujo Lane, Easley, SC 29640.
