Allan Minovitz

ClemsonAllan Robert Minovitz, 71, passed away December 6, 2015.Born in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Jacob and Martha Michaelson Minovitz. A lifelong hairdresser, he began his career in Maryland and moved to Greenville, SC, in 1971.  In 1976 he opened HeadHunters Salon in Clemson, which he owned and operated until 1992. He managed The Esso Club in Clemson for five years.  Allan's compassion for people and animals guided his life.  An avid musicologist, animal lover and Clemson fan, he spent his retirement doing what he enjoyed most - being with friends, taking care of his beloved animals, gardening and enjoying life.
He is survived by his longtime partner, Lisa Garrett, of Pendleton; brother, Ronnie Minovitz, of Frederick, MD; nephew, Lenny Solt, and his family, of Land of Lakes, FL; stepmother, Ruth Minovitz, of Pensacola, FL; along with nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was predeceased by his sister, Marilyn Minovitz Solt.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Concerned Citizens for Animals, Pickens County Donations, P.O. Box 1211, Clemson, SC  29633.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
