Allison Lane Merritt, 52, of Piedmont wife of John Henry Merritt, passed away Friday evening April 10, 2015 surrounded by her family and friends.

Born June 22, 1962 in Greenville, she was a daughter of Rhyner Allen Norris, Jr. and Bobbie McAllister Norris. Mrs. Merritt was a homemaker who was a loving wife, mother and friend. She enjoyed scrapbooking, reading and was a member of Mt Airy Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by her sons, Jonathan Ryan Merritt and Sloan Austin Merritt; sister, Melinda Dale Brown; brothers, James Allen Norris and Jeffrey Neal Norris.

Mrs. Merritt was predeceased by two sons, William Cody Merritt and Stephen Clay Merritt.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Mt. Airy Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Siloam Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday at Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road.

Honorary escorts will be special friends and caregivers.

The family is at the home.
