Alma C. Carter

Alma Crisp Carter, 93, formerly of 408 South Fifth Street, wife of the late Troy Hudson Carter, died Tuesday, November 17, 2009, at Greenville Memorial Hospital, following a brief illness.
Born on July 1, 1916 in Greer, Mrs. Carter was a daughter of the late John Murray and Julia Bailey Crisp. She had a private piano studio in her home and took great pleasure in sharing her love of music with young people, some of whom went on to establish their own careers in in music.
Music was a great source of joy throughout her life. A member of the choir at Easley Presbyterian Church, she took active roles in the Crescent Music Club of Greenville and the Easley Piano Teachers Organization, particularly focusing on scholarship efforts.
Surviving are a son, Troy Hudson Carter, junior, and his wife, Suzanne Davidson Carter of Easley; a daughter, Julie Carter Clement and her husband, Robert Michael Clement of Flower Mound, Texas; and two granddaughters, Madeleine Christine Clement of Ft. Worth, Texas and Aimee Claire Clement of Houston, Texas. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Carter was predeceased by her six siblings, Beulah Crisp Shore, Blanche Crisp Wallace Boyce, Harry Edward Crisp, Margie Crisp James Clark, Roy Lee Crisp, and Melvin Eugene Crisp.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday at Easley Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM Sunday at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.
