Alton Frank White, 88, of Easley, South Carolina, husband of Jo Anna Smith White, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024.
Born in Greenville, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Frank and Pearl White. Alton graduated from Slater-Marietta High School in 1953. His passions for basketball and golf flourished in High School and continued throughout his lifetime. Alton served with unwavering commitment to the United States Navy. After an honorable 22-year career in the U.S. Navy where he served in Vietnam, he transitioned to a successful career at Michelin Manufacturing Company. Over the next 20 years, he made significant contributions to the company, working as a supervisor. His expertise and commitment to excellence were evident in every project he oversaw.
He loved his family deeply and cared for them wholeheartedly. He was an avid member of Siloam Baptist Church as he joined in 1975.
Alton is survived by a daughter, Pamela Jo White; two brothers, William Grady White “Dick” (Betty) and Roger Dean White (Linda); a sister, Lynn Case; and three grandchildren, Sarah Jo, Will and Noah Frank White.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Robinson Funeral Home – Powdersville Road. The funeral service will follow in the Chapel at 11:00 AM. A private graveside service with follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Siloam Baptist Church.
