Alva Hood, 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 23, 2017, at Capstone Health and Rehab of Easley.

Born in Anderson County, he was the son to the late Frank and Nettie Freeman Hood.

Surviving are a brother, Bolt Hood and his wife, Geneva of Powdersville; six nieces and three nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, James Hood and sisters, Mae McNeely and Mattie Taylor.

He served in the U.S. Army for two years and was of the Baptist faith.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM on Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Robinson Memorial Gardens.

The family is at their respective homes.
