On August 16, 2017, Alvin Lee Duncan of Heath Circle won his battle and went to be with his Lord and Savior. A member of Georges Creek Baptist Church, he was a member of the Abundant Life Sunday School class and served on several church committees through the years and also served as a Deacon. Alvin was a founding member of the Crosswell Fire District Board of Governors, where he served as Treasurer. The vision he had for the Crosswell Community came to fruition. In 2017, the Board of Governors bestowed the great honor to him of naming the Crosswell Fire Station the "Alvin Lee Duncan Fire House".
After serving as a South Carolina State Constable, Alvin was a Reserve Sheriff's Deputy with the Pickens County Sheriff's Department for 15 years and was awarded the honor of being named Reserve Officer of the Year on three different occasions.
Alvin's love for community service also showed through while serving as Worthy Patron of the Easley Chapter #200 Order of the Eastern Star, being a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of the Bates Lodge #189, and a member of the Hejaz Temple of the Shriners.
Having served in the US Air Force during the Korean conflict, Alvin retired from an electrical distributing company. He went on to found Foothills Process Serving Company which he owned and operated for many years.
Alvin never met a stranger and was always there for those who needed a helping hand or just someone to listen. He loved his Lord, his church family, his family and traveling dearly. Many memories were made with his wife of 53 years, Nancy Robertson Duncan.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, LeAnn Fulmer (John) of North Augusta, SC; Julie Duncan of Easley, SC; Janet Myers of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren Austin Fulmer (fiance'Deanne Wirth) of North Augusta, SC; Mallory Fulmer of Clemson, SC and Katherine Myers of Atlanta, GA; sister Bonnie Brookshire (Alvin) of Taylors, SC; and many loving and devoted nieces and nephews as well as many loving friends along with brother in law Charles Robertson (Venice) of Easley, SC.
Alvin was predeceased by his father, Thomas Leroy Duncan, his mother Lena Pearl Duncan and two sisters, Lorene Hall and Mildred Vaughn.
A special thank you to the Crosswell Fire Department, Pruitt Health Hospice, Dr. Steve Freeman and loving friends and family for their loving care and thoughtfulness.
