Alvin B. Phillips

Alvin Brantley "Sam" Phillips, 78, of 2125 River Road, husband of Mary Bushard Phillips, passed away Wednesday December 28, 2011 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Phillips was born in Easley, SC, a son of the late Omer B. and Ora Simmons Phillips. He retired from Oliver Truck Lines, was a 50 year member of the Bates Masonic Lodge, a Shriner and a member of The Carpenters House Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his son, Andy Phillips and his wife, Dianne, of Easley; two daughters, Holley Pate and her husband, Frank and Samantha Haynie and her husband, Robert, all of Easley; a step-son, James Whittaker and his wife, Debbie, of Piedmont; four step-daughters, Kathy Pinney and Barbara Logan, both of Conway, SC, Leanda King and her husband, Marvin, of Easley and Becky Lunsford and her husband, Jeff, of Seneca; 5 grandchildren; 16 step-grandchildren and 9 step, great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:30 PM Saturday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road, with the Reverend Chris Lee officiating. Burial with Masonic Rites will be in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 2:15 PM, prior to the service, at the funeral home.
