Amanda Childress Moore, 58, wife of John L. Moore, Jr., died January 17, 2007 at the Hospice House of Anderson. A native of Sanford, NC, she was the daughter of the late Kemp J. and Maxine Farrell Childress. She was a public school teacher in South Carolina for over 36 years.
In addition to her husband she is survived by sons: John Matthew Moore and wife Sandra of Greenville, SC, Aaron Kemp Moore and wife Nicia of Charlotte, NC, David Samuel Moore and Jonathan Allan Moore of Clemson; brother: Kemp J. Childress, Jr. and wife Lisa of Fuquay, NC and grand children Carter Matthew Moore, Emma Aleese Moore and Pearl Marguerite Moore. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by grand parents: Matthew (Max) Manly and Pearl Tarleton Farrell of Sanford, NC and Grover Cleveland and Lily Wall Childress of Olivia, NC.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2007 at 3pm at the Clemson United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Clemson United Methodist Church, 300 Frontage Rd., Clemson, SC 29631, the American Cancer Society, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, SC 29615, the Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621 or the ASPCA, 424 East 92nd St., New York, NY 10128.
