Andrew "Andy" Chad Hunter

Andrew “Andy” Chad Hunter, 46, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024. Andy was born on February 12, 1978, at Landstuhl Air Base in Landstuhl, Germany. He was a son of Sandra Gibson Hunter and the late Larry C. Hunter, and a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church.

Andy was a 1997 graduate of D’lberville High School in D’lberville, Mississippi where he excelled in track and football; leading him to two scholarships to MGCCC. Andy then attended Sam Houston University in Texas, where he graduated in 2001 with double BA’s in Criminal Justice and Psychology. His professional drive awarded him a spot on the FBI’s Summer internship program.

With a strong sense of patriotism, Andy enlisted like many others, after the terrorist attack on 9/11. During his exemplary Naval intelligence career, he served in Iraq and Afghanistan, awarding him numerous service and accommodation medals. Like so many other veterans, Andy made many sacrifices in the name of duty for the love of our country.

Along with his father, Andy is preceded in death by an older brother, Shane Allen Hunter.

In addition to his mother, Sandy, he is survived by two sisters, Miah Hunter Cutshall and Wendelin Hunter; brother, Daniel Hunter; four nephews, Mordechai, Elijah, Harrison and Hudson and niece, Kennedy.

A memorial service will be held to honor Andrew’s exemplary life and military career on Monday, November 4, 2024, at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home – Powdersville Road.

Burial of cremated remains with Navy Military Rites will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens, Veteran’s Section.
