Mrs. Anita Stokes Basinger, 79, of Easley, loving wife of the late R.J. Basinger, passed away Saturday, October 1, 2016 at McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville.
Anita was born in Pickens County on September 19, 1937 to the late Bruce and Alta McDonald Stokes. She retired as a secretary for the Pickens County Tax Office and volunteered for many years for Meals on Wheels. Mrs. Basinger was a member of Easley First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Basinger is survived by a daughter; Sandra Nalley (Benny) of Easley; a sister; Carol Hunter (Garvin) of Easley; and a granddaughter; Megan Chambers (Tyler)
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, David Hendricks, and her first husband, David Ray Hendricks.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown, 305 W. Main Street, Easley, SC 29640, with the Rev. Dr. John Adams and Rev. Johnny Touchet officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Monday, October 3, 2016 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Meals on Wheels of Pickens County, P.O. Box 184 Easley, SC 29640.
The family is at the residence.
