Anita Wilson Newton, 70, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Lila Doyle Skilled Nursing Center in Seneca, SC after a 5 year battle with a rare form of Parkinson's.
Anita was born in Lafayette, Indiana a daughter of Louvell Cooper Wilson of Clemson and the late Thomas Virgil Wilson. She earned a Masters Degree in Early Education from Fordham University in New York. She taught elementary grades and ESL classes over many years. She has lived in several states, settling in the Clemson area in 1992. She was a member of Buncombe Street United Methodist Church in Greenville. She enjoyed reading and knitting.
Surviving are sons, Thomas Newton (Sara) of Six Mile, SC and Alan Newton of Fall City, Washington; brother, Tim Wilson (Vivian Ann) of Colorado Springs, CO; sister, Jane Lineberger (Warren) of Charlotte, NC; and grandchildren, Jesse and Simon Newton.
Memorial services will be 2pm on Wednesday, May 15th in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home with Rev. Don Milstead officiating.
The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
