Dorothy Ann Dacus, 79, of 115 Skyland Drive, passed away Monday, March 7, 2011 at the McCall Hospice House.
Born in Easley, Miss Dacus was a daughter of the late Henry Ervin Dacus, Sr. and the late Margaret Elizabeth Rogers Dacus. She graduated from Easley High School in 1949 and Texas State College for Women in 1953 with a Bachelor's Degree in Library Science. Miss Dacus worked in the libraries at Chowan College and Mars Hill College before retiring from Greenville County Schools as the head cataloguer. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Surviving are a brother, James R. Dacus, of the home; a sister, Margaret Elizabeth Chick, of Villa Rica, Georgia; a sister-in-law, Mary Reid Dacus of Piedmont; three nieces, Andrea Dacus, Beverly Norton, and Mary Ann Hunt; and one nephew, Mike Dacus. In addition to her parents, Miss Dacus was predeceased by a brother, Henry Ervin Dacus, Jr.; a brother-in-law, Harold Chick; and a sister-in-law, Joyce Dacus.
Memorial services will be 2:30 PM Wednesday in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown, where the family will receive friends immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to McCall Hospice House, 1836 W. Georgia Road, Simpsonville, SC 29680 or the charity of one's choice.
The family is at the home.
