Ann Wainwright Warren, 87, formerly of 307 Grigsby Avenue, died Saturday, December 19, 2009, at Riverside Living Center in Piedmont.

Born in Wilson, N.C., Mrs. Warren was a daughter of the late George Cooke and Kate Wortham Wainwright. She graduated from Barton College in 1943, formerly Atlantic Christian College, and later obtained a Masters Degree in Education from Clemson University. She was a retired school teacher, having taught at East End School and the Gettys Middle School for a total of 29 years. Mrs. Warren was a member of First United Methodist Church, where she belonged to the Women of the Church.

Surviving are a son, Dr. Edward (Bo) Warren, III and his wife, Katherine, of St. Helena Island, S.C.; a daughter, Katherine W. Holcombe and her husband, Perry, of Easley; a sister, Katherine Wainwright Raymond of South Weymouth, Mass.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Edward Warren, Jr.; a brother, George Cooke Wainwright, Jr.; and a sister, Dalen Wainwright.

Graveside funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday at Greenlawn Memorial Park with the Reverend Jim Correll officiating.

The body is at Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown where the family will receive friends from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM Monday.

The family is at the home of her daughter, 303 Arrowhead Trail, Easley, SC 29642.
