Obituary

Anne Teresa Morlino, 94, of Easley, SC, passed away at her home on Wednesday, June 24, 2026. Anne was the daughter of the late Joseph and Pauline Amoruso and was the wife of the late John D’Alesandro Morlino.

Anne lived a life filled with imagination, adventure, and an unwavering love for the people around her. She was the kind of woman who believed that the dusting could wait if there were children to play with, stories to tell, or memories to be made.

A devoted wife and mother, Anne shared an extraordinary marriage with her beloved husband, John, spanning more than seven decades. After meeting on the job and a blooming romance, they married after John's military service. Together, they built a life rooted in love, partnership, and countless adventures. Anne embraced every new chapter that came their way, traveling throughout Europe and making cherished memories in places such as Australia, Alaska, and Hawaii. Each new destination became another page in the remarkable story they wrote together.

Anne had a gift for making childhood magical. She delighted in creating costumes and crafts, encouraging imagination, and turning ordinary afternoons into grand productions. She was an attentive mother, always letting the kids have big dreams and encouraging them along their way. Every morning, once they were adults, Anne would call to give them “news,” and afterward she would follow up with a quirky e-mail recapping the conversation and offering insight into the stories they had shared.

She also found fulfillment in her professional life, serving as a secretary and working alongside multiple professors in the agricultural economics department at Clemson University for nearly 15 years. She was very fond of the professors and the grad students alike. Her dedication, warmth, and dependability left lasting impressions on all who knew her.

Anne was a shy person in her younger years, but grew bolder as she aged. She was funny without meaning to be and often had people rolling with laughter. She was an avid supporter of Clemson athletics, proudly a member of IPTAY, and she cheered on the Tigers, especially during basketball and football seasons.

Those who knew Anne knew of her fondness for life's simple pleasures. She loved animals, especially cats, and was rarely without her favorite lipstick. She enjoyed going out to eat, spending time with family and friends, and playing cards, particularly a spirited game of pinochle.

Anne is survived by her children, John J. Morlino, Jr. (Debra Erenberg) of Milford, CT, Nancy A. Aronne (Frank) of Newington, CT, and Patricia “Patty” M. Burnett (Eddie) of Easley, a granddaughter, Marissa A. Wengell (John) of Newington, CT, and their children, Max and Paige.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Pauline Amoruso as well as her husband, John D’Alesandro Morlino.

The family will gather at one of Anne and John’s favorite restaurants to celebrate a beautiful life that was well lived.

More than anything, Anne will be remembered for the joy she brought into the lives of others. She had a way of making people feel welcomed, loved, and included in the adventure. Her laughter, creativity, and generous spirit leave behind a legacy of treasured memories that will continue to be shared by all who knew and loved her.
