Sybil Annette Jewell James, 84, of Easley, and wife of Charles Edward “Torchy” James, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2025.
Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late Arthur Woodrow Jewell and Irene Carter Jewell McCarthy.
Mrs. James was a 1959 graduate of Easley High School. She retired from BASF after nearly 40 years of dedicated service. She was a member of Easley First Baptist Church and enjoyed bowling, crafts, crocheting, solving jigsaw puzzles, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to her husband of 66 years, Charles “Torchy”, are her children, Charles Edward “Chuck” James, Jr. and Shari Ann James Stowers (Scott); grandchildren, Steve Riley Fisher, Lauren Annette Stowers, Ryan Scott Stowers (Jamie), Seth Inabinet Stowers (Talisa), and Aubrey Lee Stowers Poteat (Grant); and great-grandchildren, Alexis Hickey, Abbi Hickey, Peyton Hickey, Ophelia Fisher, Owen Stowers, Sawyer Stowers, Adalee Poteat, Bastian Stowers, and Leilani Stowers.
Annette was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Marcia Ann Jewell, Thomas Arthur Jewell, Larry Carter Jewell, Richard Lynn Jewell, and William Arthur Jewell.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 3, 2025, from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown, with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM in the chapel. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Flowers will be accepted.
The family will be at the home of her daughter, 201 Stone Hedge Court, Easley, SC 29642.
