Annette Emerson Tanksley

Annette Emerson Tanksley, 84, passed on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 with her family by her side. Born on March 5, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ada Griffin Emerson.
Annette married James Talmadge Tanksley in 1951 and celebrated 67 years of marriage on February 3.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter, Sandy Cordell and her husband, Ron; two granddaughters, Jennifer Osborn and her husband Jon, and Kayla Linder and her husband Daniel; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Patricia Quarles and her husband Durell.
Annette was preceded in death by her son, Michael Tanksley; brother, Edwin Emerson; and three sisters, Rubye Watkins, Grace Sandlin, and Lois Black Dyar.
At Annette's request and honor, her body will be donated to MUSC Anatomical Research for the advancement of science.
In keeping with the wishes of Annette, there will be no service.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Interim Healthcare (16 Hyland Road Greenville, SC 29615). The family would like to thank Kathy of Interim Healthcare for her service and compassion.
