Annie Raines Whitman, 77, formerly of 203 Zion Heights Circle, and widow of the late Arvil Julian Whitman, passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2010, at Pardee Hospital, Hendersonville, NC.
Born in Pickens County, she was a daughter of the late Zion H. and Leatha McJunkin Raines. Mrs. Whitman retired from Blue Ridge Nursing Center and was a member of Lenhardt Christian Fellowship.
Surviving are one son, Dale Whitman (Melissa) of Easley; one brother, Arthur L. Raines of Easley; two sisters, Aileen James and Frances Crowe, both of Easley; three grandchildren, Matthew, Morgan, and Jordan Whitman. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Whitman was predeceased by one sister, Lou Ellen Gilstrap.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Saturday in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown, with the Rev. Jerry James officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM Friday at the funeral home.
The family is at the home of her son, Dale Whitman, 203 Zion Heights Circle, Easley, SC 29642.
