Anthony Joseph Principe, 71, of 505 Long Reach Drive, died Friday, April 9, 2010 at his residence.

Born in Ridgeway, PA, and reared in Brockway, PA, he was a son of the late Anthony Angelo and Edith Earichi Principe. A graduate of Gannon University in Erie, PA and earned his Masters Degree from University of Pennsylvania of Edinboro, PA, he was an Adjunct Instructor of Humanities at Tri County Technical College and also taught SC History and courses of History of Wars with the Life Long Learning Program at Clemson University. Prior to moving to SC, he taught Social Studies at Ferdonia Central School in Ferdonia, NY and coached both the men's and women's varsity basketball teams and was president of the Track and Field Association of Western, NY. He was a member of Fort Hill Presbyterian Church, the Salem Lions Club, sang with the Key Koraliers at Keowee Key, and was a volunteer with the Clemson University Athletic Department.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Mary Reed Principe, of the home; are a son, Marc Alan Principe and wife, Heather of West Seneca, NY; a daughter, Jacqueline Principe of Milwaukee, WI; a sister, Rose Marie Holt of Dallas, TX; six grandchildren, Carrie Graham, Joanna Principe Rose, William Principe Evans, Susanna Principe Evans, Thomas Elliott Rose and Nicholas Christopher Rose.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at Fort Hill Presbyterian Church in Clemson, SC.

Graveside committal services will be held at a later date in Ferdonia, NY.
