Anthony "Tony" Roland Waldrop

January 18, 1948 — December 19, 2020

Tony Waldrop, 72, of Powdersville, passed away peacefully on December 19th, surrounded by his children. He was born in Greenville, SC to the late Everett B. Waldrop and Marie Turner Waldrop. Tony was cherished by his friends and family and he touched countless lives with his kindness, generosity, loving nature and irreverent humor.

Tony enjoyed a productive and accomplished career of 39 years at Milliken Corporation. He began his career as a technician at Judson Mill and at the point of retirement, had advanced to Product Development Specialist. His career afforded him the opportunity to be involved in several patents through specialized fabric development research.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty Waldrop of 36 years. He is survived by his two daughters, Rhonda (Fred) Clyde of Pelzer and Deena Ellis of Piedmont; one son, Michael (Dave Smith) Hammond of Atlanta, GA and one granddaughter, Brittany Waldrop of Clinton. He is also survived by one brother, David (Wanda) Waldrop of Easley.

The family would like to extend sincere thanks and gratitude to the staffs of The Retreat at Easley and McCall Hospice House of Simpsonville.
