Arline Hartman Hicks

Arline Hartman Hicks, 95, of Easley, South Carolina, wife of the late J. B. Hicks, Sr., passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at Foothills Presbyterian Home.

Born to the late Theodore Hartman and Ruby Dayberry Hartman, she grew up in Cleveland County, North Carolina. She graduated from NC Baptist Hospital School of Nursing, now Wake Forest University in Winston Salem, North Carolina in 1951. Arline worked at Spartanburg Regional Hospital, Woodruff General Hospital, and Kershaw County Hospital prior to employment with the Pickens County Health Department in 1962, she retired in 1987.

She is survived by her two sons, J.B. “Buddy” Hicks, Jr. (Susan), and Brent H. Hicks, both of Easley, South Carolina; two sisters, Jewel Panther, of Laurel, Mississippi, and Joyce Lutz, of Bellwood, North Carolina; two granddaughters, Carolina Arline Myers (Ethan) of Easley, South Carolina, and Grace Leigh Hicks of Greenville, South Carolina; and two great-grandchildren, E.J. and Hudson Myers.

The family will host a graveside service at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at Normans Grove Baptist Church in Bellwood, North Carolina.
