--Easley
Arthur Lake Raines, 92, of Easley, husband of the late Mary McQueen Raines passed away Saturday, June 11, 2011, at his home.
Born in Pickens County, the son of the late Zion Hillard and Leatha McJunkin Raines, Mr. Raines was retired from Singer and was a charter member of Landmark Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Sarah Luther (Edwin) of Hamlet, NC, and Marilyn Raines of Easley; sister, Mildred Aileen James of Easley; two grandchildren, Jane French (Larry) of York, SC, and Tom Luther (Kristin) of Horse Shoe, NC; one great-grandchild, Brianna French.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Kathleen Raines, Frances Crowe, Lou Ellen Gilstrap and Annie Whitman.
The family wishes to give special thanks to Shirley Bolding, his faithful caregiver, and to everyone who has assisted the family.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 14, 2011, in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7:00-8:30 PM Monday at the funeral home.
