A.Y. BROWN Six Mile

Alvin York Brown, 71, husband of Wilma Maw Brown, died Monday, March 31, 2008 at the Hospice House in Anderson. A native of Lyman, SC he was the son of the late Alvin "Bill" and Sara Arve Brown. He retired from SLED in 1990 after a 33 year career in law enforcement. He served in the U.S. Marines and was a Shriner.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons: Dean Brown and wife Sandra of Salem and Tate Brown and wife Katy of Central; daughter Sabrina B. Lowdenback of Salem; grandchildren, Justin, Tyler and Dillon Brown and a great-grandchild, Cole Brown. He was predeceased by a brother, Richard Brown.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11am in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home with burial to follow in Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-8pm. Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to the Hospice House of Anderson, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621. The family is at the residence, 342 Cedar Hill Road, Six Mile, SC 29682.
