Barbara Jean Cothran Campbell, 85, wife of the late James Calvin Campbell, passed away August 28, 2014 at NHC-Greenville, in Greer.
Born in Oconee County, to the late Duffy and Alma Powell Cothran, Barbara graduated from Parker High School and retired from Bell South, where she began working as an operator and later as a customer service representative. She was a member of Brushy Creek Baptist Church where she was very active in the choir and taught Sunday school for many years.
She is survived by two sons, James "Jim" C. Campbell, Jr. (Kathy) and John R. Campbell, both of Easley; a daughter, Pat Roper (Benny) of Easley; a sister, Hazel Fair of Greenville; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Maurice Cothran and J.B. Cothran; and four sisters, Evelyn Brannon, Helen Scott, Jewel Rogers and Francis Johnson.
Graveside services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Hillcrest Memorial Park, in Pickens.
The family is at the home of Jim Campbell, Jr.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Brushy Creek Baptist Church Choir Fund, 100 Clay Street, Easley, SC 29642.
