Barbara Jean Gatten

Barbara Jean (B.J.) Wright Gatten, 54, of 212 S. Summit Drive, wife of David Michael Gatten, died Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.Born in Raleigh, North Carolina, she was a daughter of James A. and Betty Maynard Wright of Wilson, NC.  B.J. was a manager with the Tennessee Valley Authority for 30 years prior to joining Duke Energy Corporation as a communications manager at Oconee Nuclear Station in January 2013, where she worked until her death.She was a member of Brentwood United Methodist Church in Brentwood, TN, as well as a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority, the Rotary Club of Oconee County and the Public Relations Society of America.Surviving in addition to her husband and parents are her son, Luke Michael Gatten, and daughter, Lauren Elizabeth Gatten, both of the home; brother, Ernie Wright of Wilson, NC; and sisters Beth Wright Cobb of Oviedo, FL and Nancy Wright of Charlotte, NC.The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:30 pm on Tuesday, January 5, at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home in Central, SC.The family will also receive friends at Brentwood United Methodist Church in Brentwood, TN on Thursday, January 7, from 2:00 to 3:30 pm, followed by a memorial service at 3:30 pm.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.Condolences may be expressed online at www.robinsonfuneralhomes.com or at the funeral home.
