Barbara Jean Nix Hickey, 74, of 1094 Johnson Road, wife of the late Earl Hunter Hickey, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 10, 2009 at Palmetto Health Baptist Easley.
Born in Anderson, she was a daughter of the late Charlie Spence and Mary Lois Nimmons Nix. She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church in Sunset where she was a longtime Sunday School Teacher. She loved taking very special care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are four sons, Donnie E. Hickey and wife Wanda, Wayne A. Hickey and wife Debbie, Patrick H. Hickey and wife Karen, Thomas J. Hickey and wife Karen; two daughters, Charlene Ballew and husband Ray, Wanda Kelley and husband Larry, all of Easley; three brothers, five sisters; twenty grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a brother, several sisters, and a grandson.
A graveside service will be 2 PM Monday at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Reverends Doyle Barker and Bob Russo officiating.
Visitation will be Sunday night from 6 PM until 8 PM at Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pine Grove Baptist Church Bus Fund; 902 Pine Church Road; Sunset, SC 29685.
The family is at the home of her daughter, Charlene Ballew, 208 Angie Lane, Easley, SC 29642.
