Barbara Henderson Wade, 78, of 1804 Grandview Drive and widow of James Donald (Don) Wade, died Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at Oconee Medical Center after a brief illness.
Born in Clemson, SC, a daughter of the late Warren and Zelma Richey Henderson, she was a retired employee of Clemson University and a member of East Clemson Baptist Church. Barbara's impact on her family, friends, and neighbors is best described as an unselfish giving of her time and energy to anyone willing to accept it.
Surviving are one son, Clint Wade and wife, Lorraine of Newnan, GA; two daughters, Donna Wade Scoggins and husband, Mitchell of Rydal, GA and Beth Wade Weathersby and husband, Frank of Cartersville, GA; six grandchildren Kurt Scoggins and wife, Lindsay of Adairsville, GA, Blake Scoggins of Rydal, GA, Kyle Tucker of Cartersville, GA, Chris, Maggie and Don Norris Wade of Newnan, GA; step-grandsons, Douglas Weathersby of Walden, MA and James Weathersby of Atlanta, GA; one brother, Benjamin Henderson of Anderson; five sisters, Margaret Gambrell of Pendleton, Belva Bennett, Jean Lehmann and Elaine Hunter all of Clemson, and Dorothy Bradley of Sandy Springs.
Funeral services will be 2:30 PM Saturday at East Clemson Baptist Church with Reverend Gene Gilliam officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM, Friday at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home.
The family is at her home.
