Barbara Williams, 72, of Central, passed away Thursday, May 25th, 2023.
She was born in Richmond, VA, a daughter of the late Stockton and Elenor Cooper.
Barbara was a loving person who had a passion to instill positivity into everyone she met. She taught for many years at Tamassee-Salem High School, R.C. Edwards Middle School, and D. W. Daniel High School. She was admired by her students and the community for her dedication to teaching. Barbara also loved to spend her time outdoors planting in her garden as well as watching and feeding the birds. She did this often, having love for humming birds especially. She also had a passion for collecting stuffed teddy bears adding to a generational collection passed on to her. Barbara loved to give them away to less fortunate children whom she read many stories to in her free time.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Catherine Williams and her partner, Savannah Benoit; Catherine’s godparents, Jim and Pat Gaines, Pat being a lifelong best friend for over 50 years, and Erin Momen; and friend, Dianna Haynes with whom she spent many moments.
A Memorial Service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, June 8th at Patrick Square Pond & Park.
Additional Parking will be at the lower lot of Nettles Park.
Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home is assisting with the arrangements.
