Charles Baron “Barry” Bridges, 58, husband of Lori, entered into the presence of Jesus on Monday, May 19, 2025, at his home.
Born in Easley on May 26, 1966, he was a son of Priscilla Couch Bridges and the late Jimmy Massey.
Barry was a retired Captain of the Easley Fire Department. He was the owner of Barry’s Lawncare, and he played Santa during the Christmas season. Barry loved being outside and brought joy to all of those around him.
Barry was involved in several community activities, including playing Santa Claus at the annual Easley Christmas Parade.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his daughters, Courtney Perry (Caleb) and Anna Bridges, and his honorary son, JP Foster (Alicea) and their sons, Wyatt and Walker. He is also survived by the love of his life, his grandson, Ashton. Ashton was his Papa's baby, buddy, and best friend. Their bond was truly something special. There is a hole in our lives that can only be filled by the Grace of God and knowing we will see him again.
Barry is also survived by his father-in-law, Ronnie Hayes, his brother, Robbie Bridges, brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Leigh Ann Raines, nieces and nephews, Caitlin (Cory), Aaron (Maddie), Daniel (Sierra), Justin (Audrey), Jennifer (Dusty), Alan (Becky), Kim, and Abbi, and several great nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Tim Massey and Chris Bridges, grandparents, Bo and Robbie Couch, and mother-in-law, Linda Hayes.
Barry was a faithful member of Rock Springs Baptist Church and the choir for over 30 years. His dedication and commitment to his beloved choir was unwavering. Barry lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed every day, and his smile and laughter were infectious. Barry’s joy was because saving grace of Jesus. Go sing in the heavenly choir, Songbird.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM at Rock Springs Baptist Church, 201 Rock Springs Church Road, Easley, SC 29642. A service to celebrate Barry’s life will follow at 12:00 PM in the church’s chapel. Burial with Fireman Honors will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Easley.
The family respectfully asks that all Pickens County First Responders be seated as honorary escorts.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Rock Springs Baptist Church Choir Fund, 201 Rock Springs Church Road, Easley, SC 29642.
The family will be at the home of Leigh Ann Raines, 576 Latham Road, Easley, SC 29640.
