Barry Steven James, 53, of Easley, went to sleep securely in the arms of Jesus on January 27, 2021..
Born in Jacksonville, AR, he was the son of Antha Hamlin James and the late Steven Daniel James. Barry graduated from Liberty High School. He was a member of Brushy Creek Baptist Church and was a Mason. He enjoyed talking to his friends over the CB radio, water skiing, singing and listening to music. Barry was known to be handy and could do many different jobs. He had a passion for cars and loved to fish. Barry had a giving spirit and will be remembered as a true southern gentleman.
He is survived by his daughter, Morgan James (John Elrod) and their daughter, August Elrod; son, Barry Michael James; mother, Antha Hamlin James; sister, April Hayes (Leo) and their children, Konner Johnson, Chris Hayes, Ansley Hayes and Kelsey Hayes. Barry is also survived by his great nieces, great nephews, extended family and his CB buddies, Stingray, Pappy, Screamin Eagle, Mister Nobody, Frog, Space Ghost, Tin Man, Cobra, Tinker, Blue Goose, John Boy, Little Joe, and T-Bucket.
Graveside service will be held on Monday, February 1, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
Barry's closest friends and family will be pallbearers and his dear CB buddies will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Due to the ongoing Covid-19 Pandemic, the family request that all attending wear a mask and follow social distancing guidelines.
