Barry G. Richards, 85, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2025. He was born in Miami, Florida to the late Gwynne and Alice Richards.

He dedicated most of his career to sales and marketing, where he was known for his genuine and loving nature. Barry's incredible ability to put others' interests before his own made a lasting impact on those around him.

In addition to his professional life, Barry served honorably in the U.S. Army. Throughout his life, he made many notable contributions to his community. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and played an active role in the Clemson Little Theatre, where he managed publicity efforts. Barry also did publicity for the Clemson African American Museum and The Clemson Music Festival, showcasing his passion for cultural enrichment. Barry was also an active member of Saint Andrew Catholic Church of Clemson.

Barry loved photography and was an avid supporter of live theatre. He enjoyed exercising, staying active, and engaged in the things that brought him joy. Barry was also a proud supporter of Clemson University sports teams, especially the football team. Above all, Barry took pride in his family, who were his proudest accomplishment.

He will be remembered for his kind spirit and unwavering support of those around him. Barry leaves behind a legacy of love and community service that will not be forgotten.

Barry is survived by his cherished wife Katherine "Kay" Richards; sons, Barry Casey Richards (Erika), and Kevin Richards (Rachel); brothers, David M. Richards, Timmothy J. Richards, and Kevin T. Richards; sisters, Kathleen G. Richards, Michaela Rossetti, Molly Hartman, and Sheila Laut; grandchildren, Lourdes Richards, Gianna Richards, Davis Richards, and Harris Richards.

In addition to his parents, Barry is preceded in death by a brother, Dennis P. Richards.

In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Barry may be made to Clemson Community Care or a charity of your choice.

The family will have a private service at a later date.
