Mr. Beattie Garrett Jones, Jr., 83, of 108 Chelmsford Dr., husband of Frances Funk Jones, passed away Friday, September 16, 2011 at Regency Hospital.

Born February 20, 1928 in Greenville County, he was a son of the late Beattie and Fannie Bridges Jones. Mr. Jones was a US Navy veteran serving during the Korean Conflict, and was a long time active volunteer in the West Gantt Fire Department and EMS. He also was a volunteer in the Red Cross disaster relief.

In addition to his wife of 59 years, he is survived by his children, Michael Jones of Greenville, Sharon Hamilton (Charles) of Easley, Steve Jones of Easley, and Lisa Jones of Easley; sister, Judy Wheeler (Harold) of Easley; brothers, Don Jones (Patsy) of Easley and Bob Jones (Joyce) of Greer; grandchildren, Melissa Hamilton, Chuck Hamilton, David Owens, Jeremy Jones and Anthony Jones.

Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 PM Sunday, September 18, 2011 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road with Rev. Dr. John Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until 2:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
