Ben Frank Field, 85, of 216 Hagood Park Drive, husband of the late Grace Leona Chastain Field, passed away Monday, April 23, 2012 at Baptist Easley Hospital.
Born in Pickens County, a son of the late Frank Bradley and Vesta Porter Field, Mr. Field retired as a Chief Boatswain Mate with the US Navy and then worked with Saco Lowell Corp. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Easley, where he belonged to the R.C. McCall Sunday School Class.
Surviving are two daughters, Linda Lesley (Ron) of Easley and Donna Cox (Dan) of Camden; six grandchildren, Shannon Garrick, Tarah Galloway, Chase Galloway, Brandon Cox, Bradley Cox, and Monica Childs; and two nephews, Brad Norris and Tommy Field. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Field was predeceased by a brother, Harold Field and by a sister, Genevia Norris.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with the Rev. Dr. John Adams officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Escort of Honor will be the R.C. McCall Sunday School Class.
Visitation will be from 12:15 PM until 1:45 PM Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service.
