Benjamin Weldon Haney, 90, of 1649 18 Mile Creek Road, died Friday, January 23, 2009 at his residence.

Born in Gum Log, GA, a son of the late Ernest and Gracie Ladd Haney, he was a retired employee of Cannon Mills, a member of East Clemson Christian Fellowship, the American Legion and was an Army veteran of WWII.

Surviving are his wife, Madge Durham Haney of the home; one son, James Haney of Pendleton; three daughters, Joan Kelly of the home, Johnnie Garrett of Central, and Jane Groomes of Seneca; two brothers, Billy Haney and Leonard Haney both of Pendleton; one sister, Sarah Porter of Pendleton; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 3 PM, Monday at East Clemson Christian Fellowship (formerly Church of God of Prophecy) with burial to follow in Memory Gardens.

The body is at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central where the family will receive friends from 4 to 6 PM Sunday, and will be placed in the church at 2 PM Monday.
