Benjamin Burthhold "BB" Hooker, 91, beloved husband of the late Opal Porter Hooker, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 14, 2021.
Born in Pickens County, he was a son of the late Benjamin Burthold Hooker and Izona Roper Hooker.
Mr. Hooker was retired from Mayfair Mills after 50 years of dedicated service. He was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church, the Bates Masonic Lodge #189 A.F.M., and he proudly served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean War.
Surviving are his children, Julia Langston and her husband, James and Ben Hooker and his wife, Ann; grandchildren, Andy and Dawn Hooker, Casey and Trey Willingham, Jay and Emily Langston, Jonathan and Danae Langston and Paul and Hannah Langston; great grandchildren, Kinley, Lathem and Sophie Hooker, Reese and Mason Willingham, Lucy Kate, Jase and Bodie Langston.
Mr. Hooker was the last surviving member of his immediate family. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a granddaughter, Kristen Langston; brothers, Hal, Holmes, and Alvin Hooker; and sisters, Fay and Helen Hooker.
Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, January 16, 2021 in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Mr. Hooker will lie in state on Friday from 1:00 PM until 4:30 PM at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown, for those wishing to pay their respects.
