Bernice W. Massingill

Mary Bernice Waldrop Massingill, 92, formerly of Hollingsworth Drive, wife of the late William Clyde Massingill, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2011, at Countryside Village.
Born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late William Ernest Waldrop and the late Dura Annie Mae Powell Waldrop Crenshaw, Mrs. Massingill retired from the Alice Plant of Alice Manufacturing Company after more than fifty years of service. She was a member of Park Street Baptist Church where she belonged to the Joy Sunday School Class.
Surviving are two sons, William Wayne Massingill (Sylvia Jean), and Robert Ronald Massingill, Sr., (Brenda), all of Easley; a sister, Gertrude Cartee (Grady) of Liberty; three grandchildren, Don Massingill, Robert Massingill, Jr., and Tami Massingill Smith (Danny); and two great-grandchildren, Spencer Levi Massingill and Haley Marie Massingill.
Funeral services will be 3:30 PM Wednesday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with Rev. Dr. Alton Nix and Rev. Lewis Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Countryside Village and the staff of Piedmont Hospice for the loving care they gave to Mrs. Massingill.
