Bernice Alice Penn Mitchell, 94, died Thursday January 15, 2009 at The Gardens at Eastside, where she has resided for over 3 years, after relocation from Bristol, TN.
Mrs. Mitchell was born August 9, 1914 in Bristol, Tennessee, the only daughter of the late Reed and Alice West Penn. She retired from Daimler-Chrysler Corporation in Detroit, after 35 years of service.
Surviving are her niece and nephew, Flora and Jesse Frasier, of Easley, SC ; a grand-niece, Monica Frasier Miller (Avakian), of Atlanta, GA ; a grand-nephew, Jesse Frasier, Jr. (Jennifer), of Atlanta and a great, grand-nephew, Jackson Reed Frasier.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Reed Anson, Eugene Fontaine and Frederick Douglas Penn ; half-sisters, Mary Eliza Penn Campbell and Lottie Penn Mattison.
Funeral services will be 4:00 pm Sunday in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm until 4:00 pm, prior to the service, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association, 301 University Ridge, Greenville, SC 29601.
