Bernice Chapman Pilgrim of 306 Grigsby Avenue, died Friday, August 28, 2009 at Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca.

Born in Oconee County at Jocassee, she was a daughter of the late Waymon M. and Addie Cash Chapman. Mrs. Pilgrim retired from Swirl, Inc. and was of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Pilgrim is survived by a brother, Charles Chapman of Walhalla; two sisters, Gladys Patterson of Greenville and Alma Craig of Liberty; three close friends, Dean and Joyce Bradford and Bufford King and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Pilgrim is predeceased by her husband, James Edward Pilgrim; brothers,Clyde and Ernest Chapman; sisters, Ressie Ellenburg, Clessie Mosley, Viola Stamey, Norma Reeves and Pauline (Billie) Chapman.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, prior to the service.

The family is at their respective homes.
