Bertha Ruth Leopard Dunlap Butler, 84, wife of the late Thomas Joseph Dunlap, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Baptist Easley Hospital.

Born in Easley, to the late John and Emma McQueen Leopard, "Bert" was a seamstress at Play School Baby in Easley until her retirement. Even after retiring, Mrs. Butler continued to sew and quilt on a daily basis, making gifts for family and friends. She was a devoted member of Lenhardt Christian Fellowship where she was part of the Adult Bible Class.

Surviving are a son, Thomas G. Dunlap (Nancy) of Nashville, TN; a daughter, Lynn Perkins (Harry) of Easley; two brothers, Clarence Elgin of OK and Charles Elgin of Pickens; two sisters, Ruby Christine Esuary of Pickens and Myrtle Britzenhoff of MI; four grandchildren, Katrina Queen, Keith Perkins, Russell Perkins and Scot Dunlap; seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Wanda Jean Dunlap.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, July 25, 2014 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial will follow in Arial United Methodist Church Cemetery.

A visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until 1:45 P.M. Friday, prior to the service at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.

The family is at the residence.
