Bertha Mae Cole Simmons, 88, formerly of 27 Austin Street, died Saturday, October 10, 2009 at Palmetto Health Baptist Easley.

Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Preston and Ola Mae Phillips Cole. She worked for Kendall Textiles in Pelzer and was of the Baptist Faith.

Surviving are a son, James Keith Rogers of Wales, Great Britain; a daughter, Linda LaClair of Easley; a brother, Charles Cole of Belton; four sisters, Shirley Soto of Columbus, GA, Sarah Browning of Belton, Sue Rainey of Easley, Martha Huber of Michigan; five grandchildren, Dana LaClair, Michael Shaun LaClair, Michael Rogers, Michelle Rogers, Keith Rogers, Jr.; ten great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by husbands James Clarence Rogers and W.G. Simmons; several brothers and sisters; and three grandchildren.

A graveside memorial service will be 2 PM Tuesday in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson with Reverend Dr. David Gallamore officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children; 950 West Farris Road; Greenville, SC 29605.
