Bertie Foster Powell Proctor, 86, died Thursday, November 9, 2006 at Oconee Memorial Hospital.
Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Daniel T. and Mae Watson Foster. She retired from Carolina Blouse Company after 42 years of service and was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church until 1987 and then St. Mark United Methodist Church until her death.
Surviving are two sons, Marion F. Powell and his wife, Sara, of Orlando, FL, Danny Powell and his wife, Donna, of Fort. Mill; a daughter, Cecile Cely of Seneca; three step-daughters, Nancy P.Smith, Ann P. Luckadoo and her husband, Ted, all of Anderson, and Amy P. Sawicki and her husband, Steve, of St. Paul, NC; a sister, Syble Foster Byars and her husband, Wade, of Greenville; thirteen grandchildren, Cecelia Cely Hamilton; Trey Cely, Andra Powell Phillips, Matthew Powell, Amanda Powell Wood, Ami Powell Free, Michael Powell, Ryan Luckadoo, AnnMarie Luckadoo, Lauren Ownbey, Jordon Ownbey, Erica Atkinson and Taylor Sawicki; and fourteen great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Proctor was predeceased by her first husband, Clarence Powell, and her second husband, Homer J. Proctor; a brother, Charlie T. Foster; a sister, Allease Coker, and by a grandson, Daniel Powell.
Memorial gravside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Fairview United Methodist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Saint Mark Caring Ministry, 616 Quincy Road, Seneca, SC 29678 or to "Marvin's Kids" at the same address.
