Bessie P. Collins, 89, of Pickens, wife of the late Freeman M. Kelley, died Sunday, January 24, 2010, at Cannon Memorial Hospital.
Born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late Pick Allison and Mary Gilstrap Powell , Mrs. Collins was retired from ECP and a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church.
Surviving are three sons, Freeman Kelley Jr., of Pickens; Tommy Kelley, of Six Mile; and Melvin Kelley, of Easley; two daughters, Patsy Ann Kelly, of Pickens, and Mary Baldwin of Easley; seven grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Collins was predeceaced by six sisters, and one grandson, Daniel Chapman.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, with the Reverends Jack Mahaffey and Edward Kelley officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Tabor Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
The family is at the home of Patsy Ann Kelly, 648 Hagood Mill Road, Pickens, SC 29671.
