Born in Greenville, South Carolina, Betty was raised in a loving family that instilled in her the values of compassion and faith. Throughout her life, Betty remained committed to her Lord and Savior above all else. She radiated love and kindness in everything she did. Betty's true calling was caring for her family. As a homemaker, she took great pride in creating a warm and loving home for her husband of 63 years, Rev. Charles Hugh Bishop, who preceded her in death. A woman of deep faith, Betty found joy in attending church regularly and cherishing the friendships within her church community. She was a Sunday School Teacher and was the church treasurer for many years. Her dedication to the ministry was evident in her unwavering support for her husband's work.

In her free time, Betty loved nothing more than spending quality time with her beloved family. Whether it was cooking meals together, sharing stories around the dinner table or gathering for special occasions, she treasured these moments above all else. Her family will forever hold dear the memories they shared with Betty. She also enjoyed gardening.

Betty is survived by her loving children: Mike Bishop (Pam), Randy Bishop (Wanda), Brian Bishop (Kim), Tim Bishop (Tanya), Barry Bishop (Lori), Andy Bishop (Jodi), Kathy Bowie (Leonard), Teresa Martin, Lisa Shelton (Troy), Karen Cooper (Chris), and Jennifer Saylors (Matthew). She was also blessed with 29 grandchildren whom she adored and 36 great grandchildren.
